Dancing Fountain

The Dancing Fountain was designed using a technology, not at that time on the market, that allowed a computer to vary the periodicity of alternating current. This made it possible for pumps to turn at different speeds and shoot jets of water into the air at varying heights without using valves. Nick de Wolf designed, built and programed the computer to run the fountain dance.  Travis Fulton and Peter Hutter designed and built the infrastructure of dams, cages, pumps, reservoirs and nozzles in the fountain basin.
